Nephrology Regional Sessions – Anuradhapura 2025

The Sri Lanka Society of Nephrology (SLSON), in collaboration with the Anuradhapura Medical Association, will conduct a dedicated Nephrology Regional Session for Nurses on 22nd August 2025 at the Golden Mango Resort, Anuradhapura.

This practical, hands-on programme focuses on Chronic Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), offering nurses critical training and knowledge on procedures, complications, patient management, and quality improvement in dialysis care.

Key topics include:

  • Infections and poor drainage in CAPD

  • Nurses’ roles and responsibilities in peritoneal dialysis

  • Fluid and dietary management

  • Selection of suitable patients for CAPD

  • Auditing dialysis programmes

In addition to lectures by expert nephrologists and nursing leaders, the event features practical sessions led by CAPD teams from national teaching hospitals, providing demonstrations on PD fluid handling, catheter care, and transfer set changes.

This session is a vital opportunity for renal nurses to build capacity, refine their skills, and strengthen their contributions to kidney care — all under the empowering theme: “Kidney Care, Beyond Limits.”
